Randy Moss Accomplishments

Randy had some very notable accomplishments in his High school sports career despite his small town and his childhood. Moss was born on february 13, 1977 in Charleston, West Virginia. He grew up in the nearby small town of Rand and attended Dupont High school. Rand (aka “Rand University” according to ESPNS 30 for 30 on Randy) was a very small town with a population under two-thousand. In his High school days as a Dupont Panther, he carried his football team to back-to-back state championships and the 1994 AAA Title. At the end of his senior year, he had racked up 109 catches for 44 touchdowns with 2,435 yards, according to “TheFamousPeople.coms biography on Randy.” Moss also did very well in basketball and even baseball, he also had some notable accomplishments in track, he had won state titles in the 100m and 200m dashes. As a rookie, he set a record for most touchdowns receptions by a rookie with 17 and ended with the third most receptions yards with one thousand three hundred and thirteen. His success continued through the early 2000’s;for example, he led the league in receptions in 2000 and in 2003 became the first wide receiver ever to average over 100 yards per game for 12 games straight. That same season he set career highs in receptions with 111 and yards with one thousand, six hundred, thirty two. After a couple of not so good years with the raiders, Moss got traded to the patriots in 2007. That year he set an NFL record with 23 touchdown receptions. Randy made the pro bowl 7 times in his career and was even named Pro Bowl MVP in the year 2000. Even with all this success, moss still didn't cap off his career with a superbowl ring, retiring in the year 2012 at the age of 35 years
