Rancho Los Alamitos

I went to Rancho Los Alamitos located at long beach with some of my friends and we really enjoyed this place. When we went inside the receptionist was very nice, she welcomed, gave us maps, told us about the timeline room and the video room, and also offered us a free tour around the house if we want. We went into the video room where we spent around 15 minutes watching a short movie that was talking about the history of the place, in the movie it was said that the story of Rancho Los Alamitos preceded these first newcomers from Mexico, and it is also part of the ancestral village of Povuu’ngna, the traditional place of origin of the native Gabrielino-Tongva people of the Los Angeles Basin. Nieto’s great land holdings included 25,500 acres which in 1833 became Rancho Los Alamitos—Ranch of the Little Cottonwoods. After some different owners for this Rancho it was passed to the generations of the Bixby family, the rancho’s last private owners andrenter farmers who worked there.During the 1880’s booming real estate, 5,000 acres of Alamitos land were developed and renewed, and by the early twentieth century, Alamitos oil supported around 3,600-acre …show more content…
I was amazed as it is the first time for me to visit a historical place in America. Then the lady at the front desk offered us the free tour. The guide gave us sheet of timeline of events and owners at Rancho Los Alamitos and talked to us about the history of the place. Then she took us outside of the house to the barn. It had horses, chickens, goats, and cows. As I love horses, I asked the man who was there to take him out and I took a picture with her, it was a female horse called Valentina and she was 3 years old. We took some pictures of the places in the barn as the Blacksmith shop, the place where their meeting were held and the wagons. We also saw the place that had the origin of water that they used, many ducks were there
