After the passing of the 52nd Dai, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin, the Dawoodi Bohra community split due to dual claim of succession. In the words of Ronald Reagan, one of the most respected US Presidents: “Republicans believe that every day is the fourth of July, but the democrats believe that every day is April 15”. This statement made by him implies that he believes that Republican conservatives believe that every day is the 4th of July which is the celebration of our independence, and Democrats believe that every day is tax day, which is a day where the government can come and seize your property. On that note, I am arguing the fact that we need a republican president to serve the next term. This topic is important because it shows the kind of image that the next president should portray and the mark he or she should leave for the next generation. Our last president…

The traditional school year has been in practice for decades and in this time, has shown that it is greatly successful. To switch to year-round schooling would overall be incredibly inconvenient for each person involved. The traditional school year should remain in Niagara because in comparison to year-round schooling it is less expensive, more convenient for parents, and offers more opportunities for students. Funding for education is expensive enough as is, and possibly making the school year longer could alter these costs. To fund education all school staff must be paid, which includes teachers, secretaries, and janitors.…

The classic 180 day school year has been established since the early 1900s. Prior to this period, children who worked on farms in rural areas usually went to school during off-farming season in the cold, winter months. Then they would stop during the summer months to help their families on their farms. Because of this, the school year was shortened to accommodate these children. Currently many schools are considering, or already have, switching back to the longer school year with periodic breaks.…

No matter where you go or went to school, you always have some type of English class that forces you to write papers. These papers usually has to be a certain way or over a certain topic. To me that was a pretty big problem for me because I could do free writing easy, but when you tell me to write about something that I don 't have any interest in and I have to follow your “rules”, then I will just try to blow it off. I have always hated the way Professors and the world had this “image” of their version of a “perfect” essay. I always messed up on the rules like where to put my commas or semicolons, that to me is the hardest part to not have a run- on sentence.…

I noticed this two years ago when I moved here with my family. We can define and recognize people from other countries, but still we try to communicate in the best possible way and to learn the meaning of special words when we are talking to them. Inside the United States, we have lots of different communities, such as American, Black, Hispanic, and others. The interesting thing about this is that inside them we have lots of sub-communities which have their own dialects. For example, in American there are differences in speech in the different states, and even inside one state.…
