Lord Of the Flies is a novel that questions the morality of a society that is separate from our own. Within the novel we see a clear want for structure from the stranded school boys, this is shown in their voting for a leader as the very first item they address as a whole group. When selecting this leader, they were not fully thinking they simply chose the person that seemed to bring them together, Ralph. Ralph in response to becoming leader Ralph is unsure but he as his first act of leadership, he elects Jack, a young boy who seems crave power, into a leadership role of hunting. Neither of the two are fit to be leaders, the best leader out of the stranded boys is Piggy because he is compassionate as well as logical.
