Ralph values treating everyone with kindness and he values life. He also focuses on the long term instead of the short term like Jack. Jack is just more there for fun is what he is getting at. All he wants to do is hunt and rule the island. While Ralph is there for survival. He really valued making shelters and starting a fire.
