The painting I choose is called “Raja Bikram Collecting the Clothes of the Bathing Fairies” by Mulla Nusrati .Mulla Nusrati drawn a great contrast to reflect the identities of the men and the fairies in one painting. I was attracted by the colorful and detailness of the painting as I scroll through the list of artifact we can choose to analysis. The great contrast in the color, background, and character created a narrative that reveal the diversity of the seven fairies and the simplicity of the men.

First, the character appearances reveals a sharp contrast in their difference lifestyle, enhancing the diversity of the fairies and simplicity of the man. On the upper half of the painting, the man showed the side of his face and gazed to the left. He seems indifferent of the fairies’ presence. On the other hand, the seven fairies have their eyes wide open, showing their happiness with a lukewarm smile on their faces. This shows how the fairies are all joyful creatures and how boring is the man with a unenthestic expression. Moreover, the man is wearing a simplistic light salmon color cap and shawl. The fairies are wearing colorful pearl necklaces, headdress and ear garments with

Roberts, said "Delays can themselves be productive (Roberts, 43)." We often understand more when we look at things more closely, and dive into deeper thinking as we take more time observing it. It wasn't until 25 minutes in the assignment, I realized the color difference on the painting. Between the upper and lower half of the painting is a clearer indication that these characters must not be overlapped. I learned that although we can see it, doesn’t mean we understand it. Once I spent enough time with close observation, I noticed all the aspect of this painting contribute one point. A point that shows the fairies are more diverse and men is more simplistic overall, no matter in lifestyle, living environment and time conception

In the following essay I’m going to compare and contrast two 17th century artworks – “Las Meninas” by Diego Velazquez (1656) and “The Allegory of Painting” by Johannes Vermeer. Paintings depict artists working on a portrait, however, in Velasquez’s work the viewer is the person who is being painted and in Vermeer’s the viewer is just an observer of the artistic process. The only reason the observer knows that he is the center object of the future fictional painting is in the mirror on the back wall. The couple in the reflection is King Philip IV and his wife, Mariana. (Foucault, 8).…

Dainty Fairy Tattoo’s: A Timeless And Classic Choice When we think of fairies we tend to think of childhood books and stories that included these small human-like beings rumored to reside in Fairyland or even at the bottom of the garden. Women are most likely to choose them as tattoo designs as they are generally portrayed as being female and having girlish traits such as long hair, dresses, and mischievous behavior, which make it easy for women to feel an inclination towards them. Fairies were first popularized by the brothers Grimm in their fictional stories but have existed in Celtic folklore since the middle ages and possibly even before that. They are described as being human-like in appearance with delicate wings and they have come…

They are too small beyond recognition, so viewers can just make out a figure. Some artworks that impressionists in the 19th century created share some commonalities with this painting. Impressionists depicted the nature with phenomenology excluding political, social, historical thought. They just focused on nature itself, so people are usually cropped or are represented by blurry silhouettes. The big difference from impressionism and the distinct feature of this painting is that what the artist wants to deliver is small philosophy, which is harmony between humanity and nature.…

Fairy tales are mythical, and sometimes magical stories that have been told and passed on to children for centuries. The classic, uplifting Disney fairy tales that we all know and love, stray from the gruesome, but original storylines of the tales. Despite the fact that these fairy tales were meant to be told to innocent children, the early versions of the stories are quite ominous and much darker than the joyous Disney tales. In many fairy tales, the characters have deep psychological problems, or disturbing meanings that would never be in a story advertised for children today. The modern version of “The Little Mermaid” is full of singing, true love, and curiosity, while the original, by Hans Christian Andersen, has underlying themes of low…

Throughout our discussion on The Fairies are Thirsty, it was clear to see the connection between expectations for women within our society. These expectations for women to become the ideal virgin Mary and stay obedient to men and those women who did not want to follow this obligation were declared to a person who lacks self-morals like Madeleine within the play. The statue is shown to be the women trying to support her fellow sisters and encourage them to be strong and confident with just being themselves without. The fairies in A Midsummer Night’s Dream are much like the mythological water beasts sirens. Both are manipulative, humanlike, and romantically inclined. Despite their similarities, both their motives and their means of interaction with humanity vary- as do their appearances. Shakespeare’s fairies are playful and mischievous, but ultimately not evil creatures. They cause both harm and good, indeed both the conflict and resolution of the story are caused by the fairy’s shenanigans.…
