Therefore, process time for each operation is calculated by taking average of 6 days. A detailed report of cycle time is formed giving an idea of how much time is taken by each process. This ultimately frames to be our aim of reducing the time and hence, productivity is increased.
For that a simplified device such as fixture is designed. It essentially works as working holding device which helps in clamping of workpiece in such a manner that unnecessary clamping of nuts and bolts onto the any other working-holding device is eliminated. Thereby, a considerable amount of time in each process is saved.
This ultimately not only increases the productivity but also labor fatigue also gets reduced by considerable amount. So even it benefits the workers as well.
This new design of fixture is implemented and subsequent time is recorded. A drop-in time taken indicates the efficiency as well as productivity is increased.

Answer to question 1: Since the first quarter of 2015, labor productivity and unit labor costs have increased in the manufacturing, business, nonfinancial corporate, and nonfarm business sectors. Generally, the cause for a rise in productivity can be attributed to “changes in technology; capital investment; level of output; utilization of capacity, energy, and materials; the organization of production; managerial skill; and the characteristics and effort of the work force.” [1] In this case, there was an increase in the output per hour of all workers and a decrease in the number of hours that they have worked. Consequently, these sectors have been able to increase their annual production. Regarding the rise in unit labor costs, the employers compensated the workers for the increased output, and this causes the slight increase in costs.…
