Last month, the University of California system approved a measure to raise tuition for out-of-state students by $972, but not for illegal immigrant students.
The state's system board of regents was content on raising tuition for American students, but allows illegal alien students to evade the new measure.
“All students — regardless of immigration status — are subject to the same tuition and fee structures, based on their residency status,” UC system spokeswoman Clair Doan said.
