State legislatures are considering to raise the minimum driving age from sixteen to eighteen because of safety concerns. When a person turns sixteen he or she is old enough to get a job and have many responsibilities. As a teenager myself, I enjoy the freedom of driving myself places, even though it might just be to work some days. Also at my age, I am stuck between a child and an adult. The ability to drive makes it seem like I am not a child anymore. The driving age should not be raised because the sixteen-year-old drivers need transportation, also to have some freedom, and not to feel like a child anymore. Driving at sixteen gives more freedom.
