According to NatCen Social Research a 2014 “Children in single parent families can be just as happy as those with both sets of parents.” (Evans) Also, it will be hard to raise a child or children when one is a single parent or if you divorced. It can give you a lot of stress and a lot less time with their family but it sure to have a great ending. In the article, Raising Kids in Non-Nuclear Families talk about how today the United States there are many single parents and that number is still rising. “In 2008, about 29.5% of American households self-selected designation as a single-family household, approximately a two percent increase from 2000.”(Statistical) If someone says in a relationship of marriage so that they can be in a the nuclear family. It’s not worth getting abused or staying in a relationship just so one can have the nuclear family title. Some families are better with divorces because the children can be happy without screaming parents everyday hopefully. There are so families that the grandparents are the caretakers, According to The Return of the Multi-Generational Family Household, “Many children also grow up in what is called a “multigenerational” household. This refers to a home that is headed by a grandparent rather than a parent. About 1 in 20 children in the United States grow up in such a household.”(The) The family that have grandparents as their caregiver are usually better off. There are reasons for them to have custody of the children and is it really a difference from having a grandmother and grandfather instead of having there unfit mother and father.Sometimes their parents die and there grandparents take them in and there not nuclear family does that mean there not better off as the children with nuclear families.
