Now after a few days, things have settled and Walter has his game plan in mind. However, with the life that Walter chose, he has to live with all the problems that come with it. So while cooking meth, Jesse and Walter got held up at gun point by some drug dealers, Emilio and Krazy-8. Walter, thinking quickly, offers to show them his recipe for meth, as a way to buy time. Secretly he is making a gas to hopefully incapacitate them. His plan works and he manages to knock them out with it. To Walter’s and Jesse’s disappointment, it only killed one of them, Emilio. They take both bodies back to Jesse’s house and chain Krazy-8 up to a pole in the basement. They now have to decide who kills Krazy-8. Flipping a coin gets suggested. Through flipping it, Walter gets chosen to kill Krazy-8. Walt is extremely unsettled by having to do such a thing. At this point he really needed some time to think about how he might do it or if he really needs to ("Cat's in the Bag..."). A few days went by and he is still extremely uncomfortable with the whole situation. To help him deal with the idea of having to kill someone, he creates a pro’s and con’s list. He does not care as much about his actions as long as he is able to benefit himself or his family. He would kill someone if the outcome would keep his family safe and he can still make his money towards his treatment. This has been proven time and time again throughout the show. Countless times, Walter would say he does this for his family. Whether that is him killing people, watching people die, or manipulating people. Walter, throughout the story, has done everything with one motive. That was to do everything he does for his family. He wanted to leave his family financial stable when he was gone and think of him as a hero. With having that mindset, he was able to do whatever he needs to in order to accomplish
