He had never slept in a better bed, Rainsford decided. As he awoke, he looked out the window and admired the beautiful sunshine and flowing wind. Rainsford wanders down to the kitchen in search of something to eat. He pours a precise cup of refreshing milk and makes some eggs and toast. He had never had a better breakfast, it gave him so much vitality. He spent the rest of his morning wandering around the house, enjoying the whole place to himself. As he explored the house, he found the stairwell that takes him down to General Zaroff's cellar. Scared of what he might find, he decided to discreetly go down there. As he reaches the bottom of the stairwell he flicks on a switch, and the light comes on revealing all the heads of the people General Zaroff has killed. …show more content…
