Rain: My Love Story

Improved Essays
Rain is refreshing. Rain is gloomy. Rain renews love and rain washes away love. For me, rain brought love and took it away. It gave me hope and left me heartbroken. I used to think that my partner and I were two rain droplets on a window that came together to become one as they slipped down the window. It did bring me great happiness and joy for a couple of years. During that time, I loved the rain. It signified my love story. Then one day my love left me and it rained all night. Rain is a two faced beauty that ended my love story with sorrow.

His shining eyes flashed in front of my eyes whenever I closed my eyes. I could not stop talking about him to my best friend. He was in head all day and night; he was in my dreams. I looked at his name on my contact list and wanted to text him, but my heart stopped me as I did not want to feel depressed to know that he was not interested in me. However, one night while I was watching Dancing with the Stars I received a text from him. I blushed at the sight of his name and my heart started to beat so fast that I could not breathe. I was beyond delighted. After the text, we began to talk to each other every day and planned to meet …show more content…
I had invited Sagun to join me for shopping, but he said that he had to work all day. I was disappointed that he had work, but later thought that I would get some girl time with my girlfriends. So alike any day, I woke up feeling happy and got ready for some shopping. I met with my friends at Tyson’s Corner Mall, and that day we really ‘shopped til I dropped’. After the shopping we were so hungry, we started to discuss about where to eat. We decided on Cheesecake Factory. When we got to the restaurant and got seated, my friend, Riyam, said that she saw Sagun. Without looking up from the menu, I told her that he was at work. But, Riyam was so sure that she saw Sagun, she made me look behind my back. Thinking she was crazy, I looked behind my back. Riyam was not lying. It really was Sagun. He was sitting with a girl I had never seen before. She had her hand wrapped about Sagun’s. At that moment, I felt so heartbroken that I couldn’t look at them. I turned around and stared at the table. Suddenly, I started to become enraged. He had lied to me about having to work. With an angry mind, I walked straight to where they were seated and confronted him. He did not look shocked to see me. I was expecting him to have guilt in his eyes, but he looked at me without any emotion. The sparkle in his eyes was gone. He looked at me as if I meant nothing to him, and the next

Once you experience something of such great significance, it is hard to let that go and move on. This universal theme can be seen in both the song “Want You Back” by 5 Seconds of Summer, and the short story “All Summer in a Day” by Ray Bradbury. In “Want You Back” the band sings about a girl whom they have left and will always want back. In “All Summer in a Day” the author tells a story about students on Venus, who are in the absence of the sun, and are grieving the loss of it too. In both of these selections, the band and the author use imagery and repetition to convey the theme.…

Scott Momaday discusses his personal as well as cultural background, as he takes a trip to visit Rainy Mountain after his grandmother has passed away.
