I called Sallouha via telephone. She stated her handbag was stolen from within her vehicle. Sallouha drove a black 2010 Honda Odyssey van bearing Illinois registration L142489. The handbag was lying between the two front seats in the area of the center console. The handbag was described to be a gray and black fabric Coach with a zipper top and shoulder strap. The value of the handbag was $300.00. The following was a list of the contents inside the handbag: …show more content…
Sallouha believed the vehicle was left unlocked. She reported there was no sign of any obvious evidence to collect. Sallouha spoke to her neighbor inquiring if the neighbor saw any suspicious person(s) in the neighborhood. The neighbor told Sallouha she walked her dog in the afternoon and did not notice anyone. In the evening hours of yesterday, Sallouha last used the vehicle to go pick up pizza with her daughter. Sallouha’s handbag may or may not have been in the vehicle. She was unable to recall because she used a separate wallet to pay for the pizza. The last time she remembered seeing her handbag was when she took her children to school yesterday morning. Picking up the pizza was the last time the vehicle was driven prior to parking it at her residence.
Sallouha did not suspect anyone and did not witness or hear anyone during the night around her residence.
I advised Sallouha to cancel her credit cards, contact the Secretary of State for a another driver’s license, contact the business bank to cancel the blank check, and to contact the credit bureaus to activate a fraud alert or freeze on her credit. If Sallouha was able to find the serial number on the iPhone 5C, to call me back with the information.
I advised Sallouha to call the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office if she learns any information to assist with identification of the suspect(s) and I told her that a report would be on file at the Jackson County
