For all healthcare providers, including radiologic technologist, care should be focused on the patient and particular needs of each individual patient. Patient care should be safe, efficient, effective and reliable, patient centered, timely, and efficient regardless of patient race, gender, ethnicity, and national of origin. There should be good communication between radiologic technologist and the patient to address the patient needs and concern and the patient should be empowered to become active participants in their care.
Radiologic technicians follow the Standards of Ethics of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), which serves as a guide to evaluate their professional conduct, as it relates to patients and it also provides a guidance to promote ethical behavior within the profession and high standards of patient care.
