My interest in radiography led me to partake in a taster course at City University of London wherein I got a flavour of what was to come if I was accepted into University for diagnostic radiography and to receive hands-on experience with machinery and equipment. I have adapted to being alert and always thinking on the spot, which are both vital skills needed when working in busy hospital environment. Moreover, I volunteered in a Primary School which allowed me to work with younger children. By doing so, it strengthened my experience by benefiting me in the future to communicate well and work with younger patients.
I have also been fortunate enough to work for a plethora of charities and good will schemes set up by my employer TK Maxx in partnership with Cancer Research in which I have helped generate sales and donations for the charity through charity bake offs and fundraising events. Originally being of Afghan descent and aware of the hardships women, men and children face back home, these charity events are very personal and special to me and I try my very best to help the less fortunate than me in every way possible.
After completing my degree, I would like to work for the NHS and the local community in the hospital and will use my degree to benefit not only me but my patients and the surrounding community as well. I believe that for one to strive for any degree in the medical field, compassion, sympathy and a drive to do good for the betterment of others in the community are key and I firmly believe that my experiences and skills which I have acquired make me an ideal
