Radio Scenarios

In the radio lab, they have discussed about lies, lie couther, and lying to yourself. They presented different scenarios to depict how depiction is important but not always. First, they presented a scenario about the snake who lies. This snake play dead and he seems died at first and comes back again. Why he has this behavior? To answer this it might seem hard since we have not heard whether he benefited from his behavior. However, it might help him to survive or to attack other. In this first scenario they also presented how to couch the liars by using technology, but sometime it is hard because there is a micro facial expression. Paul Ekman, who studied a lot of facial expression to couch a liar said that you can couch a person who is sad by looking at his lip, whereas you should look at his eye when he is happy. He also said that you put effort to lie because it is not in your brain as the truth is in, your lie miss lead others. He is right in some way but there are times that deception is better to not hurt others feeling. For instance he lied to his friend when his friend invited him for second time because Ekman didn’t like the food and place. Yaling Yong, a physiologist, who has studied about pathological liars, people who can’t stop laying. She explains that there is a reason why they lay constantly. It is because their gray matter part in their brain is less and the white matter is more. Thus, they have 25% white matter or extra connection and that is what makes them to lie constantly. But they developed that when they were little.
The last scenario was about laying yourself. They presented the important of lying yourself. Harold Scakeim and Ruben Gur came up with embarrassing questions and asked people and most people lied. At the end they concluded that self-deception makes us happier and
