Racial minorities African Americans,Mexicans,Asians, etc. These minorities make up a good portion of the American population today. Yet,they still do not receive what is deserved and rightfully theirs. Even though African Americans were promised citizenship, they were still treated as if they were unequal. The freedom of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is for everyone to have. Now when it comes to African Americans they have always gotten and are still getting the short end of the stick. So what is the problem with this? The problem is that white men like to believe that they are inferior to other men and others in general. Which is not right, no one should feel inferior to anyone. The fact that one race can feel that they are superior …show more content…
People think that we have come so far in this world. Some people are so naive that they believe racism is not a problem in today’s world. But to perfectly honest that is not the case, not much as changed from the time of slaves. Having an open mind seems like such a easy thing to do, but for some people it is not as easy as it seems. Imagine a world where people where openminded, a world where everyone no matter the race, color of skin, size, gender, religion did not matter and everyone was just a person, an individual. It didn 't matter if you had the newest iPhone 7 or a fancy car, it was about how people acted that truly mattered. Having the ability to have an open mind and not worry about the other thoughts and influences to distract from who the person was. In high school I was a cheerleader, and most of my family and some of my friend said that I would never be a cheerleader. I didn 't have the personality or the pep, I wasn 't small like most cheerleaders , but I decided to try it out. At first I wasn 't sure if I would like it or even be good enough to make the team. But going through tryout practice with my friends that were cheerleaders, I realized that it was actually a really fun sport. If only I was openminded to the idea of being a cheerleader I would have joined freshman year instead …show more content…
I believe that in time , this issue of racism will be resolved. The millenniums generation are becoming more accepting of different races and genders and have an open mind to all the different possibilities. In this day racism doesn 't seem to be getting better, everyone is so quick to throw blame on one another. It amazing how sad our world can turn against each other with no remorse, sadness, or anything. And as long as we continue down this path nothing will get better. With the presidential election coming up racism can either get better or get worse. Donald Trump want to build a wall, and send all immigrants back to where they came from. That will not the situation of racism, it would just make it worse. Every action we make has even greater action in society. Weather we like it or not we as a society must change in order to

Still today the black community is discriminated against so much that it is almost impossible for someone to say that prejudice, racism, and discrimination has disappeared. An article about the shooting of African American boy, Michael Brown, gives great examples as to how this issue continues to lives on. “According to one poll, 45 percent of African Americans believe that they have been discriminated against by the police because of their race, compared to only 7 percent of whites…Even 31 percent of whites, the poll found, believed that police are more likely to use deadly force against blacks” (Don’t Shoot). Since both races notice this, that should be an eye opener to try and change something, but people have grown so used to how society has been for years, that no one seems to want to put forth any sort of effort to “make change”.…

The only contact I have with them is through cheer, and they don't live that close either so hanging out with each other would be tough. Confused, I'm not sure where to go with cheerleading, hopefully it’ll all work out in the…

Ever since the year 1619 the African-American population has been oppressed to belonging to the lower class of the society. As time has gone on the perspective of these people has changed from slaves to useless vermin to thugs, but they were the ones losing their rights as humans. To be an individual was their first right stripped away, second was their right to vote, and finally their right to speak freely. To triumph after 300 years of oppression the African-American people would have to speak loud and be heard starting with the civil rights movement. As slavery ended around 1890 racial laws were put into place called the Jim Crow Laws increasing black oppression.…

This year, Americans throughout the country witnessed the many highly publicized brutal killings of unarmed black men, women and children by law enforcement, vigilantes, and madmen. However, these events only scratch the surface of what black Americans experience on a daily basis and have had to endure most of their lives. While many argue that black Americans have been given enough equal opportunity considerations, our government has yet to address the atrocities it has committed through unfair discriminatory local, state, and federal policies since its inception. As a result, millions of black Americans today continue to suffer great injustices.…

This paper explains the oppression of the African American’s association with white’s since the early beginning of slavery. From slavery, suffering and failure to be treated with dignity and respect, the restriction on the African American individual has gone through change after change, and still lacks self-identification as a person being treated as equal and just. Slavery and discrimination has progressively been a way to hinder people of color who continued to be separated, and killed not for a crime, but for who they were. African American’s are still enslaved in many ways today, especially through mass incarceration, which is the new form of slavery and the misrepresentation of individuals of color who continue to be demeaned, which…

History has shown us that blacks in society are not equal to white people in this society. We are obviously not as intelligent, not as sophisticated, and not as wealthy as them; that’s what people want us to think about ourselves based on our harsh and cruel past during the times of slavery to the present times. Depending on who individuals ask and the era blacks are born in, one can conclude that being black is a handicap. In the black community we are taught that we are just as smart, elegant and rich as the next white person that walks through our door.…
