Speech: Racism In America

Racism
Racism is one of the most common problems America is still facing in the community today. It was terrifying back before I was born. In 1870 a group call the KKK started a mission to get rid of all black people and or someone that might be black. In 1942 there were rules such as no person of color could sit in the front of a bus. I thank Rosa Parks for what she did to bring that kind of hate to stop. It is gruesome to see all the pictures and to hear people talking about it. There are so many different ways people tried to hurt or get rid of the Color people as we were called. The dates go back to the time of slaves and witch hunting when anyone of Color was considered a nothing or less than that. Racism holds a special place in my heart.

People are being racist to Hispanics because they think Hispanics are going to take over America and that they never really had much success in anything. We are all taught if you can 't find success in one place try to look in a different place and that 's what we do. If we didn 't have Hispanics our houses will be falling apart and roads will be messed up and there will be no power plants so really they hold the most important jobs. Our society can really get hurt with racism if we don’t learn fast and soon from our past. America needs to care about racism for it to go away and we need to do something about it and something big. If everybody is being racist to each other then there is going to be hatred everywhere we go and things will keep crumbling We need to try to make racism go away by teaching the younger generations about other cultures and teaching them to love everyone and anyone as they would their own …show more content…
He thinks all Hispanics and Blacks are bad because of the way they look or show themselves. We need to learn to trust and love each other in this world and how are we going to do that if our president is against that. I hate people talking less of someone else because of the color of their skin. Not everyone is good, but then again not everyone is bad. There are a lot of good people who are Mexicans in this world and there are plenty who are Blacks too. I see all the things going on the tv now a days about cops shooting and killing black people for nothing. There are some things that may be true, but there some things that are not true

Racism and discrimination is something America has tried to leave behind. However, it seems that many people still struggle to coexist with other races which have led to many hateful riots and protests. America has tried running from these issues in the past, unfortunately, it carries onto the future of the nation which not only affects the individuals who still feel hatred but also those who resent the hatred brought onto them. This is continued partly due to the underrepresentation of minorities who are portrayed in the media which gives the viewers stereotypes about other racial groups. Stereotypes and hateful beliefs could be the main reason why people still feel hate towards others and why minorities feel underrepresented and feel certain disadvantages.…

Our society is like a statue, they both need the proper structure needed in order to keep it steady, but when one piece does not fit, then they will both topple down. Although statues may not relate to the problem, racism can relate to the one piece that does not fit, and this problem is explained in the articles " Black Men In Public Spaces", by Brent Staples, and " Is Everyone A Little Bit Racist" , by Nicolas Kristof. These articles dive into the topic of how racism affects everyday lives and how detrimental it is to the society and the people within. Also, it shows the unfortunate story of a victim of racism. Unless changes are made, racism will rule supreme in communities and there will be nothing for people to stop it.…

No other force has been able to continually divide Americans as racism has. Discrimination against people of colour is a problem we face today and its origins date back to the nations very beginning. Slave owners treated their slaves as their property.…

    Midterm Speech On Racism

For my midterm speech, I plan to argue my stance on racism, more specifically how I believe some of the black culture may unintentionally perpetuate racial inequality. The solution I will propose to this solution is not making the assumption that all blacks want to be associated with these racial stereotypes. I also want to propose the idea that blacks are guilty for these social norms, as are other races. This solution will hopefully lead towards acceptance on all sides of the racial spectrum. I am very interested in this topic because I believe it is one of the biggest issues we face in our society today and is addressed through many different sources.…

During the end of the Civil War through the early 1900s, racism was still strong and was rejuvenating all over the nation. Many things in the late 1800s and the early 1900s gave birth to a racial equality among people. An example were the Scottsboro boys who suffered the wrath of pro-white ideals.…

With different views, cultures, and ethnicities comes many problems. As humans, we are all quick to judge and discriminate against those that are not like us. While it may seem as though it is recent or only happens pretty currently, this is not the case. When people began coming over to America, and even long before it was claimed as America, minorities have been neglected and abused both physically and mentally. Racism was alive and well back in the day as much as it is now.…

Some people will argue that racism is not an issue today. This is very untrue. Racism is not as bad as it was and is getting better but still exists. People should learn from the history of racism to better understand it, so that, this generation doesn't sound ignorant. Racism has been a huge part of our history: Swann v. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education, the Supreme Court tried to desegregate schools; Shelley v. Kraemer, the Supreme Court denied a black person to buy property in certain areas; loving vs Virginia, Virginia made a law prohibiting a black person to marry a white person.…
