Ethnically, I am African American/Indian from my mother’s side of the family and I am Puerto Rican from my father’s side. I was raised by a single mother who taught me at a young age, that education is the key to success in life. Running around in the streets will not get you anywhere - at all. I did not have to read it in books or in the newspaper, I saw this situation throughout my lifetime.
