Prejudice is having an unfavorable opinion about someone before hand. There are many different types of prejudice that are present in the United States. The hardest thing to overcome in my opinion would be racism. Racism can be viewed as discrimination or believing that all people of that race will possess specific traits. Racism has been a problem for many years. Racism is something that is taught. When a baby is born he/she has no knowledge of what is right and what is wrong. A baby is innocent. I always thought that it that it easier not wearing it. I had more friends, and was easier to approach. Life would be easier. But I while was surfing the net I clicked on a video by chance. The video had people who were not Muslim try on the hijab. While watching the video I thought that I should. I decided to tell my mom to buy one for me on the way home. Everyone was surprised but happy. My dad got a cake and my mom made my favorite dish. I was happy. I felt like I accomplished something. Even though it felt good I got nervous at the thought that people 's point of view on me might change. It was in the middle of the school year, so I thought it would be weird if I showed up wearing it. I walked in late and it was during an exam. I remember the first thing I did when I walked in the class was look at their expressions. My teacher got me a seat and told me I looked pretty. I think I needed that. I was so scared of what people would think, I had thoughts of taking it off. That whole day I was getting looked at both positively and negatively. My friends that wore a hijab complimented me and those who didn’t asked why. People throughout the day kept saying “ Did your parents force you?” I don’t know why but that question still bothers
