Prejudice, Racism And Progression In The Movie, Crash

When you think about progression, you think of moving on to the next level or advancing upward. There is a difference between racism and progression. Racism is the belief that all members of each race-related possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race. This leads to stereotypes, a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing. In the movie Crash, people make assumptions based off of the stereotypes they believe. They make stereotypes of what other people have told them, what they experienced, and what they assume about other ethnicities . The movie Crash had multiple stereotypes, including the most common the conflicts between African Americans and Caucasians. For example, at the end of the movie, the Caucasian police officer picked up an African American man and assumed something was wrong with him. When the black man was trying to make comparisons with the police officer, the police officer shot the African American. The police officer thought the black man had a gun, but he had an angel in his pocket, just like the one the police officer had in his car. For example, the African American woman was sexually harassed why the Caucasian police officer, she was in an serious accident. The same police officer that had sexually harassed her was the same police officer that tried to help get out of her overturned car.
