The concept of race in society refers to a group of people who have identical innate biological traits, then which society associates and compiles genetic similarities together into ‘races’. How and who you are raised by influences your thoughts and opinions on race, throughout your childhood, one might have overheard comments about an inferior race. Which would impact the ideologies of the race and culture, generation after generation. In the three coming to age films that I have reviewed, I have discovered a common thread. All these films project that the main characters are heavily influenced by their parents or guardian figures.
