As before, racism is very popular among society during the time. Racism can leave a big impact on someone’s life. Examples of racism are common throughout of dialog. Unlike in the play Othello, where if one is happened to be black, the society will look down on them. Moreover, as said before, in the old time black was considered evil. They will believe what they and the society think is right without judging, or questioning; in contrast, in today’s culture, it is different from the 1600s. In the article, “Positivism and Progress in Firmin’s Equality of the Human Races,” by Camisha Russell, the author asserts that, if one is to believe that something is wrong, we should ask why it is wrong, and how it is wrong. (Russell 48). If we considered something like black color is “evil,” we need to find scientific evidence to prove it. Because there is no evidence to prove that black color is considered a tragedy, therefore people who have black skin, or are a different of race and ethnicity should be treated equally as everyone, and have the right to live freely anywhere. To keep racism away from society, many workplaces, schools, and other public places have created such policies that everyone inside must follow to keep everyone in check.
