From the fighting of anti-slavery to the riots for an equally treated populace not on color but on the quality of their character. There has been a consistent war waged on racism and the future of a nation. Yet, I have to apply the question to these troubling times one of such extremities that it will be pin pointedly fixed into your cerebral cortex. How can we possibly call ourselves a nation of equality? A free society and socially distained form racial prejudice. When we still have racism in local, state, and national governments, on the police force and individualized centralized racism? When a police officer an individual who has taken an oath to serve and protect ALL civilians. Yet, some take pot shots at individuals who may or may not have broken the law. In our constitution it clearly states that “everybody” is innocent until proven guilty. So why break that oath, why defy the constitution? To protect yourself is a justifiable term that when a perpetrator is able of causing your life to be threatened then clearly you must defend yourself. Yet, just throwing rocks at you does that give a man who represents law & order the means to shoot and kill you? This is racism at its clearest, evident, situation in the law. Such scenarios though not as morally threating happen all the time in our country because of a singular factor
