WWII was more than just Germans killing Jews kind but it is a huge part of it. Germans thought they were apart of a master race and anyone that wasn't aryan should die. This prejudice against Jews quickly into racism in Germany. When we think of genocide the main thing we think of (for most of us) is Germany. In Germany, less than 100 years ago, some six million plus Jewish people were raped, burned, gasses, shot and experimented on based on what started out as German prejudice that Jews caused their unhappiness after WWI. As we saw in the movie, Jews are no different than the rest of us no matter what skin color: White; Black; Asian; Hispanic. German, Italian and Japanese ethnocentrism became very dangerous in WWII when these countries decided to act upon their preconceptions. We are all the same when it comes down to the body. I heard a lot throughout the movie about the “superior race” like there was a certain skin color that dominated the next. As we saw in the movie, this isn't true. I feel like I am in certain situations because I learned is without even knowing that I did. I try my best to not be though. I really try to look at everyone equally no matter what it is: race; religion; or gender. I try to live by everyone is equal but I know I dont always. An example of me being ethnocentric is when I see a wealthy white person I automatically assume they are Trump supporters and I get annoyed and defensive very quickly when they talk. I know that this is wrong though and I try to stop because it's no better that what we saw in the movie. Racism affects everyone differently, some people tend to take it better than others but one thing is for certain, racism still to this day affects our society. Although it's not as extreme as what we saw in the movie, racism plays a very big part in today's world. People everyday are called names, looked down upon, judged and beaten just because of their skin color. We need to all learn from history and forgive and forget if the world will ever become a better
