“Uncle Atticus lets you run around with stray dogs that’s his business, like Grandma says, so it ain’t your fault if Uncle Atticus is a nigger-lover besides, but I’m here to tell you it certainly does mortify the rest of the family.” (118). This quote shows that even little kids had some kind of racism, even back in the 1930’s and even further back than that. Racism will always be around you, if it is against whites, blacks, Asians, or any other race. People will never change, that’s the sad thing about this world. There will always be discrimination, segregation, and “no” freedom for African Americans, even thirty years from now. People will always discriminate other races or different genders. Let’s just focus on the race discrimination, this is a big deal. Discrimination means treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit (dictionary.com). Have you ever been like that or has someone been like that to you? Almost everyone will discriminate against someone else. People will be stereotypical and say things, like they belong in a cotton field. ”Cry about the simple hell people give other people---- without even thinking. Cry about the hell white people give colored folks, without even stopping to think that they’re people, too” (269) Are people that rude and cruel to each other? Why? It does not make them any…
