Racism is a concept that has been around for years. It is something that has left its mark, and even scars on our society as a whole. It is also synonymous with race, which is “the arbitrary, socially constructed classification of individuals often based on physical distinctions, such as skin color, hair texture, face form, and eye shape” (Hays & Erford, 2014, p. 7).
