Persuasive Against Police Brutality

It’s now been twenty years that I been putting up with the bullshit in today’s society. I’m a Hispanic American that was born and grew up Brooklyn, New York, which is to be considered to be the “hood”. I grew up watching violence almost everyday of my life in my neighborhood, all I want is for racism to stop. The main topic spoken in the twenty first century is “police brutality”, “Police brutality is the wanton use of excessive force, usually physical, but also common in forms of verbal attacks and psychological intimidation, by a police officer. Widespread police brutality exists in many countries, even those that prosecute it.” The crime rate is skyrocketing, and it doesn’t look like there will be a solution anytime soon. What bothers me …show more content…
We think that we 're a target just because of our skin color, which is called industrial racism “is a form of racism that is a part of society. It can be both implicit and explicit in expression and is when a certain group is targeted and discriminated against based upon race.” I don’t blame them for thinking this way, so much police brutality is coming out to the open, and that’s just because technology is improving every day. The racism has to stop. An issue that I have notice is that African American people like to say black people fight for our rights like if we don’t have white people fighting for us. Everyone white person is not a bad person we need to learn how to love each and one of us. I’m pretty sure that you have heard of what a civil rights activist is, and from our knowledge we only notice the black activist when there is also white activist that are trying to make things right. What ever happen to the “I have a dream” speech by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr this guy dies for all of us, this guy was a big impact to the …show more content…
The movie Straight Out of Compton was amazing from my point of view, it gave us a perspective of how music was impacting each of those individuals during that era. Great beats to great lyrics by “N.W.A.” but what I notice is that most of their songs were promoting hate. For example the song called “Fuk Da Police” were direct shots being thrown at the police force, N.W.A felt threaten so this was the retaliation that they took, expecting that the police will just fall back. This is the type of stuff that I be talking about African Americans be looking for problems, and don’t think they are doing anything wrong. From what I’m seeing what happen here is called micro aggression. Micro aggression is “a brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioral, or environmental indignities, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative racial slights and insults towards people of color.” N.W.A have million of fans that look up to them, ounce NWA started with the negative words (fuck the police), the energy will reach out to the fans and they will act a certain way that civilian shouldn’t be. One thing that I don’t understand is that African American is ways repeating themselves “I hate the police” but then again they know why they do. I have a question when someone kills one of your family member or

The second speech I chose to critique was the male student’s speech on police brutality. This student’s main point in his speech was to argue enforcing regulations and training onto officers will and must stop police brutality. He was able to follow Monroe’s outline well while presenting his speech. In addition he used good examples of methods that can be used to prevent future police brutality. For example, he stated police officers should be forced to wear body cameras, and given proper training on a regular basis.…

However, a majority of society does not inherently believe in these stereotypes, but are too afraid to question the beliefs they have been taught and that is why they choose to do nothing. Baldwin believes that, “Privately, we cannot stand our lives and dare not examine them; we take no responsibility for what goes on in our country” . White Americans are blatantly choosing to live a life of shear ignorance and passivity, not wanting to consider all of the lives that are being permanently damaged through the process. White Americans have the ability to take advantage of African Americans primarily because they have all the power . The whites have always had the power, and according to…

“Black Lives Matter” Movement & Police Brutality As much as the subjects of “Black Lives Matter” and police brutality are getting stale and cliché, unfortunately it is still an issue that will not be corrected by hushed complaints and sweeping under the rug. However, this problem is not brand new; it has only escalated. Racial discrimination began in the times of slavery and has been an issue since—well forever. The discrimination has been toughest on minorities—like the African-American community. Along with the racial discrimination from society itself, some police and law enforcement figures have often abused their power and taken advantage of their place in the majority race.…

Police Against the People Police brutality against black individuals has skyrocketed in the past several years causing an outrage within the community. Although the distinction between the privileges of white people and colored people have been going on all throughout history, nowadays, it’s getting a bit out of hand. Astonishingly, nearly one thousand people have been killed by the force of police brutality in 2015 alone, three out of every five deaths belonged to those of Hispanic and black race (Ribas)! Therefore, with this being said, writers from the past such as Malcom Holmes and the present, Kim Lersch, Thomas Bazley, Thomas Mieczkowski, and Kristina Childs; plus, Folusho Otuyelu, Warren Graham, and Shakira Kennedy have vigorously criticized…
