Society portrays them as others because society sees them as a threat. All of the stereotypes, however, are inflated and most of the time false. According to the FBI 's Arrests by Race Table 43, out of thirty crimes listed twenty-eight had a higher percentage of whites committing them than blacks. These twenty-eight included forcible rape, burglary, vandalism, and drug use violations. This goes to prove that the perception of color is a negative one, especially for Africain-Americans. According to the FBI, racism is the leading cause of hate crimes as of 2012. It accounts for forty-eight point three percent of all hate crimes and is an incredible injustice. Media portrays blacks as the perpetrator, but in reality, they are the victim. The complex human mind is capable of looking past their own prejudice and hate and come to love one another, all it needs to do is realize their own flaws before looking at
