The photo that was taking by Elliot Erwitt, there are two drinking fountains that are labeled. One says “White” for the white people, and the other one labeled “Colored” for the black people. When looking at both labels, they are different. It may not seem like there is any difference but there is. They actually share the identical pipes. When looking at the photo they are both connected to each other showing no difference. Even though we can’t see where the pipes lead to, we can evidently say they share the same water source. However, when looking at the photo, you can see the knob closer to the white people’s fountain. Is that a knob to switch the water off going to the black people’s fountain? Why would the pipe have a knob? Even though, they look distinctive they are sharing the same water source.
