Which Racial Profiling Prevention Programs for Police Are Most Effective? I would like to define, what is racial profiling? According to the Google search engine, racial profiling refers to the discriminating practice by law enforcement officials of targeting individuals for suspicions of crime based on the individuals’ race, ethnicity, religion or national origin. I would like to study racial profiling and the preventions to stop this trend that is happening all over world. I am hoping to find evidence of racial profiling, and to learn what is done in legislation to stop racial discrimination in policing. It is terrible to live in fear of the people who are supposed to protect and serve. It breaks my heart to know when a parent has to endure the loss of a child through racial profiling by the police. I am African women with three girls and I tell my girls never to stop in the dark for police white or black. What I know about the problem is that racial profiling has always been around, it just been under cover. The civil rights movement has been fighting this issue for a while and little by little laws are being put into place to stop the prejudice and discrimination by police. I was stopped at 5:00am in the morning because my windows were out on my van at least that was the reason the officer gave for stopping me.
