Racial profiling is seen on a regular basis in traffic stops. This discrimination within the criminal justice system is composed of mainly African Americans and Hispanics. These minorities are targeted within the streets as criminals by police officers. A video from The Orland Sentinel showed major evidence of racial profiling by police. Racial profiling is commonly known as a target. This target singles out people of color, such as blacks that seem to be suspicious based upon their race, ethnicity, religion or national origin. Racial profiling should be illegal because it creates hostile racial tensions, civil liberties destroyed, and equality is no longer in society. Hostile racial tension, is when once race dislikes another race. In this case African Americans are disliking Americans.…
Enormous numbers of individuals have been hurt and even killed due to racial profiling. Police departments have often been accused of racial profiling throughout the years. Many times the incidents ended in tragedies that will not be forgotten. This situation has brought up riots that were uncontrollable and everyone just sat back and watched. Although at times assertiveness might be necessary, the police department often uses too much force and are biased on their targeted suspects, because many incidents have already been reported and many ended in lives lost. Instead of feeling good and protected whenever we see a police officer, people feel scared and nervous even when they have done nothing wrong.…
Over the previous years, the adoption of race by law enforcement agencies in their policing activities has received considerable attention worldwide. I believe that racial profiling is an ineffective law technique that generally leads to unfair treatments and incoherent decision. For more than a century Black men and women traveling through predominantly white neighborhoods were stopped and questioned for no reasons simply because police officers felt they didn't belong there . On February 2009 study of traffic stops and searches in West Virginia showed a pattern of racial profiling and revealed that African-American motorists were 1.64 times, Hispanics 1.48 times likely to be stopped than White drivers.…

Living in the United States, we often see the flash of blue lights and hear the whir of sirens. We loudly proclaim that that person must have done something unlawful to warrant a stop by the police. We never think that the police may be wrong. They may have arrested someone for the wrong reasons or for no reason at all. When students come to school, they expect an education.…

Racial profiling is a problem that has been going on in the United States for far too long. Everyday, people are being pulled over and searched just because of their race or their ethnic background. This leads to many problems, such as the accused becoming upset, feeling he/she is being wronged because of race. These feelings may cause the accused to become uncooperative or hostile. When this happens, the officer is then more likely to act aggressively in the situation, which can very easily turn into a slippery slope of unfortunate events.…
