Of the balance in the social hierarchy, citizens are enabled to begin a life with the freedom given to them from the United States to live as they please for no race but one. The phrase ‘Justice for all’ was truly meant for white people. The story of Karlesha Thurma and Jacci Sharkey has caused an uproar in society last year, both young women are college graduates who breastfed their children in photos. What was dissimilar about the two is that Jacci is white, and Karlesha is Afrikan American. Sherronda Brown in editorial of Feminspire.com claims this is both oppressive in the forms of racism and sexism. She claims, “This world is bent on controlling women’s bodies, especially when it comes to sexual expression, reproductive rights/practices, and mothering. The common point white people say when on the topic of racism is that they cannot see color in humanity as the humanity is a whole culture. Saying this excludes the records, backgrounds and understandings of marginalized people in a weak effort to eradicate racism by making everyone equal. As ethnicities are inborn pats of humanity, erasing them in such a way makes it appear as if people of color are of equal status with whites. Diversity does not cause racism; white privilege and supremacy does.
