Clark’s purpose of writing this article is to gain support for his argument that penalties are not being called and the players’ safety of is at risk. I disagree with title IX has to say about equality among collegian athletes. Title IX has made schools decide to cut out successful programs to ensure that equality among males and females stays the same. Not only, are successful programs being cut, but athletes who have not qualified into their full skillset usually never have a chance to carry on a level where they could excel. For example, college basketball has been a race to see which players have the best potential to become the next big thing in the NBA. Yet, the jump from high school to college basketball is different because coaches are not interested in potential like how the big leagues are due to title IX.…

Many players did not like the feedback Trump said about the NFL at one of his conventions, he stated "Get that son of a bitch off the field right now, out, he's fired. He's fired!". Those harsh words were replying to Collin Kaepernick’s silent movement and how his actions have spread throughout the whole NFL from team to team. There are still many actions of racism around the World and people either fight back or just take it in. Back then, you were not able to fight back.…
They have done some disturbing things in the meantime between the “dog days” of summer and what they promise will be a polished, new future. There is a strong link between protecting the image of the game and the impact of player suspension. As stated before, the NFL is the most watched sport on television and therefore, a lot of pressure is put on the league to sustain that level of popularity. However, with domestic violence cases skyrocketing, along with others, the league often faces the decision of whether to suspend players or keep them to retain popularity. Brant Webb, a writer for the American University Journal of Gender, Social Policy and Law, wrote an interesting piece…
Stone, Perry and Darley (1997) demonstrated how the racial stereotypes can affect our assessment of the athletes’ performance and how our description of the athletes can demonstrate confirmation bias of racial stereotypes. They studied the effect by asking the participants to rate the attributes and performance of the players after listening a radio broadcast of a basketball game. The white players were perceived as exhibiting less natural athletically ability but more “court-smarts”. The black players were perceived as exhibiting less “court-smarts” but more natural athletically ability.…

Because advertisers promote male sports, people are willing to pay for NBA tickets which are sold for $10-120 unlike the “WNBA” tickets sold for $10-35 a seat in women’s basketball unlike (Female Athletes Salaries 1). Men receive so much money from sponsors unlike women. Is this because of their talent, or the sponsor’s ability to promote the team or athlete? It is known that men’s sports in general bring in higher ratings than women’s sports, because they are not televised as much. On the other hand, sports enthusiasts are just as responsible for the higher television ratings for men over women.…
