Structural racism is the accumulative effect of policies and practices that do not explicitly mention race but end up disadvantaging communities of color. Structural racism was also made for the privilege people in order to make a better community or for an economical move. The Rockefeller Drug Laws in the 1970’s targeted minority groups even though the law was for anyone who were caught were drugs. A neighborhood with Latinos and African Americans were easy to police than a neighborhood such a Wall Street. In New York, the Rockefeller was an economical movement. All the Latinos and African Americans that were arrested, were taken up to prisons that were located in poor white neighborhoods. Locking up minorities groups has an economy growth to the poor white people. Events such as these have indicated that superior group have more privilege than minorities.
