In the following video, I think that the video demonstrates discrimination. Discrimination refers to actual actions against people based on their gender, race, religion, etc. The concept is demonstrated when the parents meet their daughter's fiance. They are hanging out in a restaurant together and the daughter tells her parents how she's newly engaged. The parents reactions are excitement and happiness for their daughter. Nothing seems to be wrong until the daughter's fiance shows up to the restaurant. Their reactions at seeing their daughters finance completely changes. It is something that they do not expect once they realize that her fiance is asian. They react by shaming their daughter and basically address that they do not approve of

My opinion one the video was that it was fascinating and interesting to watch for the reason that it was at high ends, and watching everyone’s different perspective of the concepts of pro white supremacy and anti-white supremacy kept me intertand. For example, while both have a valid reason to be for that movement in my own opinion I believe the entire “war” they have agents each other is really really stupid, history is there to learn from it not to make the same mistakes over and over again. I suppose it gets to me for the reason that instead of fighting in something stupid they could be helping the poor or raise money for charity with all the people that the two groups have; therefore, for me the entire concept of people of the same fighting…

The media portrays and interprets stereotypes of all different races in our society, however, this preconceived notion leaves viewers with a negative standpoint on where each races parameter is within society. The media, whether unintentionally or intentionally, has fostered the growth of racial profiling in society. Racial profiling though needs to be first acknowledged in order to be effectively changed. Through the outlets of television, newspapers, magazines, radios, and more the media seem to have ethnic minorities as the primary focus of stories with negative issues.…

Still, it can be argued that stereotypes are derived from a sliver of truth, and should not be taken seriously. For example, when asked to comment if she believed she was perpetuating stereotypes of Asian-American women, actress Nancy Kwan of The World of Suzie Wong and Flower Drum Song “has stated that she was trying to enact roles to the best of her ability and that perhaps people are reading too much into these media images” (Mok, 1998).
