In the United States it’s no secret that racial discrimination is a major issue. Earlier in the month 14 year old Ahmed Mohamed was arrested for the creation of his clock which was claimed to portray a bomb. School staff took precaution when the clock was first presented then notified officials of their concern. Although for the reason that charges that were made towards a Muslim others believed precaution wasn’t being taken but whether racial discrimination. For the belief of racial discrimination Ahmed became an internet sensation. The article brought forward the use of emotion when the opinions of others were expressed through twitter. Individuals believed “[h]aving the skill and ambition to build something cool should lead to applause, not arrest”. The fact that many individuals found the need to express their opinion on the matter only demonstrated that Americans were passionately attached to the situation. Not only did normal individuals express their opinion, but also others like the President of the United States. President Barack Obama tweeted: “‘we should inspire more kids like you with science. It’s what makes American great”. A tweet made to such a wide variety of followers simply encouraged others to speak their mind just like Hillary Clinton. Clinton tweeted “Assumptions and fear don’t keep us safe – they hold us back. Ahmed, stay curious and keep building”. By having two massive supporters such like Ahmed had it became clear that he was mistreated. It also became clear that racial judgement topics has impacted everyone.
