Racial discrimination is a big problem in America and should be eliminated everywhere. If it’s not handled it could cause a more immense problem than it already does. Racism has been around for a long time, even though there are laws that help protect citizens from different acts of it.
The definition of racism means “the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races”. Many people want to say that after the civil rights movement all racism ended. That is far from the truth. Racism still persists in everyday life, the music industry, and the workplace. It is a constant evil that is taught and learned. No one is born racist.
People of color (poc) have always been expected to "behave" a certain way and conform to society 's standards. A black man cannot raise his voice without being regarded as violent. A white man can massacre people in a movie theater and be declared "mentally ill". The point is that there exists a term known as "white privilege".
White privilege comes to people with a white skin tone and Euro-centric features. What this is that caucasian people automatically have an advantage over all people of color. No matter what it is they have a built in privilege. Whatever they do compared to people of color will always be seen as better. They 'll always get treated better, regarded better no matter what.
