Racial Differences In America

Racial differences are known to be a large issue in the world we live in today. It all began in America around the 1600s and has continued to be an issue ever since slavery ended. Lots of people in America, and all around the world, view racism as a very touchy subject. Since I live in America, I am a citizen of a free country. I am entitled to my own opinion according to the first amendment. As a citizen of a free country I should not be worried about voicing my own opinion, or sharing my views on racism. “Americans have been engaged in a spirited dialogue, to put it mildly, about the status of black people in our country.” (Salem) When something happens to a black male or female, the media is outraged and many people begin protesting, but when something happens to a white male or female, you do not hear much about it.
There have been various recent events involving white police officers and black males. For example, not too long ago a black man was shot by two white police officers outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Of course, race played a big role in this when it came to the media. Also, a man from Montgomery was sentenced to murder for shooting a black man outside of his home back in February.

Black people are citizens just like white people are. I do not see black people unequal to any other race. Personally my overall view on racism is that racism exists everywhere and there is nothing that we can do about it. Black people are different than white people, and Mexicans are different than Asians, and that is something I believe the world will never overcome. I believe it is natural to feel different about other races due to the fact that none are the same and that we all carry ourselves differently. However, with that being said, I most certainly do not find it acceptable to bash any other person just because of their race. America could definitely limit the amount of forced racism if the media would avoid the subject, which I believe will never

Prince Jones, for example, was shot by a police officer who thought he was another criminal. Some critics believe that all lives matter. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that all lives do not matter but that slogan throws "black lives matter" away. What Coates is trying to say is that black people have always experienced social injustice. By giving Prince 's death as an example it brings more attention to the fact that a black…

They know that it is a big issue among the black communities and it is not ignored. For example, “In Chicago, long maligned for its high rates of intraracial murder, members of the community created the Violence Interrupters” (1). The goals of the Violence Interrupters are to stop violence altercations before they get a chance to escalate (1). So why do people still bring up black on black crime as if the black community is blatantly ignoring it? Well it is still bought up because some may feel like black people don’t have a right to speak on police brutality and the injustices brought upon the black community just because the majority of their killing is within their own race.…

Arguments have come about that there is no way the advancement of another race can happen if the movement is saying the other races do not matter. While some have argued that it is racist there are many reasons to why it is not. For centuries blacks have been treated as if they do not matter and a stop is what they want. Fury has been building up inside of African American for the way that they are perceived as well as treated in what is known as “White…

But now, the black and white communities are still in a racial conflict of “black lives matter” and “white supremacy” when really the underlying issues are not just white killing black, but black killing white as well. But that’s the real issue. It shouldn’t matter the skin color, but that people are getting killed and protests and media involvement are not letting police departments investigate the issue without an artificial racist bias being created before anything is done about the issue. When we can really stop making it a race issue, then we can sit down together as Americans, not blacks and whites, at the table of brotherhood just like Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamed so long…

White privilege has refrained the nation from achieving liberty and justice for all. Society has failed to give equal opportunity to every American no matter what their race might be, showing us that race is a key factor in determining what privileges you are entitled to. The inequalities that colored people experience and the disadvantages that go along with having colored privilege are something whites never acknowledge and will ever experience. Therefore, it will not be real to them. Nevertheless, color privilege means you have no privilege.…

My defending source for the opposition says That the suspect who was involved in the shooting in Dallas was not affiliated with other groups and that he worked on this alone. “The suspect said he was upset about Black Lives Matter. He was upset about the recent police shootings. He was upset at white people and he wanted to kill white people especially white officers.” This source information is coming from Huffington post. As you can see, not every situation that has to do with shootings and killing involve the people who support the Black Lives Matter movement.…

One story that I believe that set off everything with racial issues is the events of Ferguson, Missouri. Michael Brown, a black teen, was shot and killed by a white police officer Darren Wilson. Brown was unarmed when he was shot, but there are more things that come into play. A few minutes before Brown was shot, he had just robbed a store. Wilson was chasing him and his partner down the streets.…

The media may not be telling the whole truth either, they can show whatever they want, it doesn't even have to be the full story. “As a result, white America has suffered from a deep uncertainty as to who African-Americans really are” (Balkaran). It could be the news showing a clip of a police officer arresting a black man for breaking the law and there being resistant and the cop having to use force. But the media could show it as the cop using excessive force to arrest man. But there's always going to be people who take it wrong, who take it as a form of racism.…

For example, many Americans, specifically caucasian, counter the Black Lives Matter movement with the phrase “All Lives Matter.” Many people believe that the “All Lives Matter” response to Black Lives Matter is racist and hateful; however, proponents of “All Lives Matter” have no racist intent, but rather, want to ensure equality and civility for all humans. Yes, black lives matter . . . but so do white lives, hispanic lives, Asian lives.…

W.E.B Du Bois believed that Mr. Washington 's approach for the black community is profoundly asinine on a black man adjustment and submission. As W.E.B Du Bois addresses in his letter “Of Mr. Booker T. Washington and Others” that Mr. Washington ideas does not age for economic development and more specifically sets the black race accepting inferiority. W.E.B Du Bois states “Mr. Washington distinctly asks that black people give up to concentrate all their energies on industrial education, the accumulation of wealth and the conciliation of South”. These things were widely impossible because blacks had no rights to defend themselves from suffrage, self respect was neither given to a race that was inferior and was looked down upon and most importantly the cultural training within whites would only let the white race become more powerful than it already is.…
