In the clip Ross shows the employees where Rachel works that they go together by buying a dozen gifts and flowers. He even arranges for four guys to sing a song to her about having a boyfriend. Ross wants the world to know that Rachel has a boyfriend, even the people at her job).
The next stage of relational development is the differentiating stage. In this stage the “we” orientation that has developed shifts to more of a “me” feeling. In the clip Rachel comes home from work and is in a horrible mood. When she walks through the door she begins to apologize to Ross, but he says “its fine you were stressed”.
