Correlation Between Race and Intelligence When a person looks at another person, are they quick to assume how intelligent they are based on their appearance or race? Some of us may say no but, most of us are all guilty of stereotyping a person based on their race at one point or another. No matter what they have heard from anyone, people should never judge a book by its cover. Assuming someone 's intelligence based on just their race is like assuming how nice someone is based on just their face. They need to look at more than just what you see and take into account outside factors. Although there are many misconceptions about the connection between race and intelligence, race does not directly affect intelligence

Students at Knightdale conducted a survey for a small sample size of students, teachers, and administrators at our school. The sample size was about 50 people. According to the survey we conducted, about eighty six percent of people we surveyed think that race does not affect intelligence. This helped show that in this area, most people are not quick to assume if someone is smart or not based on their race. Another part of the survey asked does the environment in which someone is raised affects their intelligence. AAlso, about seventy one percent thought that yes environment does affect intelligence, showing that more than half take into account factors other than race. Although so many people agreed that environment played a key role in intelligence, sixty percent of people thought genetics played a role as well (citation).
