A hysterical white girl said that a nineteen-year-old colored boy tried to assault her in an elevator of a public office building in broad daylight. Without even hesitating to find out whether or not the story was true, a mob of Americans, white and black, went on a rampage that took the lives of around 50 white men and between 150 and 200 colored men, women and children. Along with all the chaos, mobs started fires, looted homes, and damaged the reputation of the city of Tulsa and the state of Oklahoma. These acts are called race riots. Race riots cause nothing but trouble and make the victims look even worse
