The clamps release and we are shot forward like a bullet in a barrel. The wind rips through my hair, my head is flung back against the seat, by body locks, adrenaline rushing through me. All I see is blue. My heart races, blood pumping. Red and yellow streaks rush past. I soar higher and higher. My head is pressed firmly against the seat, my face being flattened by the strong wind. Then we pause, just for a moment at the top, suspended 420 feet above the ground. All I see is the lake and the bright blue sky. Falling, plummeting straight for the ground. The pavement lurches in front of me and then we are thrown forward, brakes screeching towards the finish line. It’s over in 17 seconds.
My brain can barely process what just happened.
