Along with the new European territories came problems that people wasn’t expecting. This is where the invasion part of the Europeans played a small but big role. These countries shared and some even traded domesticated animals with people and natives of America. They thought it was a good thing until they came in contact with epidemic diseases from the animals. Europeans brought over germs that American people wasn’t ready for. Smallpox was one of the diseases brought over. It came in 1690 and completely wiped out and killed half of the Southeastern territory. In the 15 and 1600’s, 90% of North and South America had died. It was the most disastrous population death rate ever. This even caused problems with the lands. The Virgin Soils Epidemic was when a massive death rate from diseases in the soils. Lands that had soils that haven’t been touched. Those that had no contact with the other diseases had no other way or type of immunity to fight the disease. As a result, more and more people died. As time and the years came, they had more ways of preventing these diseases and deaths. The invasion of these European settlers caused all of that to happen. This is the stagnant part, but there was still hope for recovery.
