Race Argumentative Essay

Back in 1950s anthropologists discovered that race was just a myth. Why should we be divided by race in the first place? When you watched the news you see all these Caucasian cops shooting African Americans that have guns or fighting back with the cops causing a riot over racism, but when the tables are turned around and an African American cop shoots a Caucasian guy that clearly is following the law and has his hands up it doesn't show up on the news because supposedly that is okay and not racism. Race is a "scientific fact" because I believe there is no such thing because we shouldn't be judged on our color, race is supposed to tell us something about our genetic history. In biological terms, race is the process of evolution and the origin of species, it is a part of the formation of the new species and differentiations. Back in 1964 the arrest of a Ku Klux Klan member killed two young black men, Charles Eddie Moore and Henry Hezekiah Dee, represents a minor attempt to close the books on a wrongly-dismissed civil rights case. Although this act took place over 40 years ago, the current case shows that race issues are still very much a part of our society. Black and whites are no longer the issues. Furthermore, it plays a big part in drug-related violence and arrest in many cities, not to mention drug source countries. Race issues are not just unique to the United States, but have been influential throughout history in any country that has experienced colonization or immigration. Therefore, can we ever “solve” these issues? What can we do differently to make things better amongst all of us that has not been tried before? I would like to be part of researching this topic, and hopefully discover a new way to find a change with the problems surrounding race, especially violence, before it is too

My question/comment is, What exactly is, “Not Black Enough?”, and to whom do we owe the credit to for this slogan? This statement is just wrong. I can't believe that in 2017 this is actually said to people. What actually makes a person black enough? If I'm a black woman or mixed with black and lived in Pepper Pike my entire life, does that make me not black enough?…

Race can also fluctuates and change. Another reason being because people in the United States are so mixed of different race people can look a certain way yet signify with a different race, and since this can happen race cannot be proven. Meaning people cannot claim someone’s race as wrong. If race was biological then there wouldn’t be so many debates on who is what race because there would be a way to prove what race people are without physical characteristics. An example of this predicament is many debated over MSNBC Karen Finney as black or not.…

Race vs. Ethnicity. Race can be de defined as a group of persons related by common descent or hereditary. Ethnicity can be defined as an ethnic group; a social group that shares a common and distinctive culture, religion and language. Race and ethnicity have many similarities but also many differences, your race can sometimes narrow down your ethnicity and if you know what ethnicity you are, you definitely know your race. You can tell a person’s race just by their physical appearance, but ethnicity is so much more complex, you can see the color of a person’s skin but that does not really tell you much information of their ethnic background.…

Racial inequality is a major problem in the USA and has only seemed to continue growing. When we take a look at the history of America we see it to be riddled with misfortune for those who have some pigmentation in their skin. African made in to slaves, Asians lured under pretenses of money only to end up in mines or working on the railroad tracks, Latinos escaping the cartel to end up being pushed around, and the list goes on. We see the Latino and Black community being smeared while the white community is depicted as successful, and above the violence. The cultural development that I have noticed in the past twenty five years is the racial inequality that our own citizens are facing every day.…

Yet in our modern era there are numerous organizations and practices that want to end this which in entire respect has taken little to no affect at all. In order to understand the true problem one must turn to the root of the creation the lack of education of the masses. Once the masses get educated on the concept of race and ethnicity hopefully it can move from equality, which is corrupt we don’t need equality, but equity and justice. Since the use of genetic data to define the validity of race erupted in the 1970’s, some scientists have addressed the notion that genetic variation by means of racial differences represents a form of racialization and therefore racism, in healthcare settings and within health spectrums in general. By using race as an indicator of genetic disparities we are acknowledging race as a biologically based enigma rather than a social construct. We allow discrimination to color a picture of embodied inequality among healthcare measures. Just as the anthropological definition of culture defines cultures as static entities defined by geographic boundaries, we cannot perceive race as a biological marker of genetic variation because it to is complex and static. Human biology, no matter what geographic location one hails from, is…
