The Raccoons are omnivorous(Plants and Animals) predatory mammals that can weight over 10 kilograms.(Reference 6) They are known for their intelligence, even a 4 year old raccoon has been able to dance clap and sweep the floor.(Reference 5)
For my invasive species I chose the Raccoon (Sometimes spelled Racoon), it’s originally from North America and it escaped to Germany in 1934 and 1945.
The Raccoon was introduced into Germany 2 times, in 1934 when a poultry farmer requested. He released those 2 weeks before granted permission from Prussia Hunting Office.(Reference 7)
And in 1945 when 25 raccoons successfully escaped from a fur farming facility and spread around Wolfshagen quickly.

But as with Ecological impact he presumption that raccoons could create negative effects on autochthone species, but scientific studies about that topic are lacking. Also a competition on native carnivores has not been proven yet, So Far little or no scientific data shows any real negative ecological effects.
Due to the fact that an obliging definition about the size of damages caused by the raccoon is not there, a conclusion of the Ecological damage remains Unknown.
To try and stop raccoons many hunters have got there rifles and heading to the forest to hunt the Raccoons. Unfortunately they are losing the battle, the raccoon has already successfully colonized this country in less than a century since arriving from its faraway native habitat. (Reference 2)
Germany is currently scrambling for a solution to the raccoon problem since they escaped. Since then there are estimated around a million of raccoons going around Germany right now. The raccoons eat eggs which is putting native birds and even turtles. Lots of people in Germany are worried since they mess up attics, can cause car accidents and they carry diseases.(Reference
