Rabindranath Tagore Critical Lens

Rabindranath Tagore once said, “You can’t cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water.” I believe that there is a lot of hidden meaning behind those thirteen simple words. To me, this quote is saying that you aren’t going to get anywhere in life if you don’t try. That means that every once in awhile you should step out of your comfort zone and experience the world through a different lens, or from a different perspective. I fully agree with Rabindranath Tagore. I think that is important to expose yourself to a different mindset and try something you normally wouldn’t do. If you don’t, I imagine that you will one day regret the decision, and wish you would have taken that one opportunity.

From this text and the time this story took place we can analyze the mind and behaviors in this text. We can see that in the north there doesn’t seem to be signs of bigots’ yet. Of course there may be some but for all the things he has done in the north he hasn’t gotten into trouble. If he did the same actions in the south he would be in trouble.…

In his book What’s Wrong with the World, G.K. Chesterton states “If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing badly.” Chesterton does not mean that if saving lives is worth doing, we should all run around with no medical knowledge trying to save lives, or that if our room needs cleaning, it is okay to clean it poorly. What he means is that if the more important things in life are worth doing, it is okay to do them poorly because it is more important that we do them rather than not do them at all. Up until my freshman year, I was a living a life that could be summed up in a version of the quote that would say “If a thing is worth doing, I should avoid it and someone else can do it instead because I am not the right person to be doing this thing.”…

The concept of perfection is something that cannot be reached or can be achieved because if you have nothing to redeem then you have nothing to gain. Just as a caterpillar is to a butterfly, redemption is to success. Although they may seem like opposites, they actually are very much alike because you need one to have the other. One must recognize a fault that they have suffered and learn from it to better one’s self and eventually teach it to others. The idea of redemption through failure because perfection will not help one’s worth is evident in Sir Gawain and The Green Knight by Simon Armitage and in modern day society.…

It's better to take the risks to make life more fun in ways you can't think of. If we didn't take risks in life we wouldn’t have any fun and we wouldn't have any inventions and the world would be in stone age again, But we did take risks and now we are venturing into the future. Philosophy is a theory or attitude held by a person or organization that acts as a guiding principle or behavior that acts as a guiding principle for behavior. I live by many philosophies; some examples are, your word is you 're bond, I am no better than any living thing always stay humble, and very few things are facts most things come down to perspective. My personal philosophy is “nothing ventured nothing gained” and this is my personal philosophy because if you don 't venture you won 't grow as a person, you get to will live life more since it allows you to experience new things and it cuts back regrets you might have for not doing said action. Nothing ventured nothing gained is very self explanatory, it means that if you do not go out and try different things, go new places, learn new concepts and ideas you will never be able to grow as a person.…

Understanding the nature of education brings into question not only what aspects of it characterize it for what it is, but also what it takes to optimize it. It is, in the end, a responsibility of the educator to set the educated on the right path to taking the responsibility upon himself to make the most of his education. In To Teachers, Rabindranath Tagore places a great importance on the learning that enthusiastically takes place in children as they explore their surroundings, noting how structure is detrimental to this state of mind. Hsun Tzu, in Encouraging Learning, on the other hand, shows how education is not marred by structure, but rather thrives in it when the individual takes it upon himself to be educated dutifully. While both…
