The Rabies Virus affects the central nervous system, which is the brain, spinal cord, and the nerves that attach to the spinal cord. It also allows someone to use their five senses: sight, smell, touch, hear, and taste. Damaging it or causing harm to the central nervous …show more content…
Burton). Having it attach onto one spot also helps it to attack the cells in your body quicker because of the reproducing in that spot. It attaches by the Glycoprotein grabbing onto the healthy cell. Once it grabs on, it pulls the entire rabies cell closer and closer to the healthy cell and eventually fuses the two cells together to make them turn into one cell (Mr. Burton). Since the virus mainly affects the Central Nervous system, the symptoms can show quickly. Once the virus infects a person, there can be many symptoms. It can cause paralysis, coma, bizarre behavior, depression, confusion, and aggressiveness. Once symptoms show, it is incurable and there is a 100% chance of death (Rabies, Eden). You can prevent rabies by getting a pre-exposure vaccine, but that is mostly used for people at a higher risk of getting rabies, like Veterinarians, laboratory works, and forest rangers (Rabies, World). There is also a normal vaccine for after getting infected too. In conclusion, the Rabies virus is a very dangerous virus that without the right treatment at the right time can kill a human. It can also be easily spread if someone gets into a fight with a wild animal. So going to the doctor and telling them if you could have had even a tiny rabid animal encounter would be a smart thing to

We have all had a virus at one point. Sometimes I go to the doctor with my mother and he will say something like, "all the tests came back negative so he probably has a virus. " That seems a little confusing because you would think they could tell what the virus was, but there are so many viruses that sometimes we as humans just catch a virus and have to deal with it. Obviously some viruses are not as powerful, but some are very serious and could even lead to death. Two common viruses are Influenza and Rhinovirus, I will write about those later in this paper.…
