In the command, saying “ The Torah has commanded us to procreate and to intend the continuation of the [human] species, as God Himself, may he be exalted, stated ‘Be fruitful and multiply.’ (Genesis 1:28) is given by God. (“ Jewish Marriage” 64-5) Even with this command given by God, Rabbis have mentioned the idea that the man is intended to procreate but women are not intended to take any action. Rabbis seemed to intend the idea that women should be the ones who do not procreate on their own, but rather having the man do most of the work. This is major in my opinion because it relates to any sort of Jewish relation towards God in the scripture Genesis. This is when God comes into relation to Judeo-Christian religion and develop his responsibility to have children built on the rabbinic interpretation of a verse. God wanted people to make the earth go round with more people living in it. They permitted polygamy to certain extents, which included that the husband must be suited to fulfill his devoirs to his two partners if he comes to agreement on polygamy. The husband role would to be able to fulfill his obligations and keep attain the needs of his two partners, including the three marital rights of a women ( regular sexual intercourse, clothing, and food) . Women are usually the ones who bring a lot of property possessions once entered into the marriage and even if the marriage goes downhill the women will still have secure protection which was the “Ketubah”, accepted during marriage.
